Hello, I have programmed a windows application that uses flash player. In short, the windows application calls for the shockwave flash object component and use it to play ".SWF" files from a specific location. I used Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and C#.Net programming language. My current Windows 7 version is 32-bit and the program works fine. However I had to port this application to several client PCs, using Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit. All worked fine except for Windows 7 64-bit. The application refused to start as Windows is missing a component that is the activeX for Flash. A bit of research showed that the problem is that Adobe have not provided support for Flash on 64-bit operation system. My questions are: 1 - If the flash activeX works on a 32-bit browser under 64-bit system, why can't it work on a 32-bit application such as mine? 2 - Is there a way to run the Windows as a 32 bit system? One of the apps reported that it needs flash player activex so i browsed through the control panel and found settings for flash player ( the icon with the white F in red background ). Under the "advanced" tab, it showed that active x wasn't installed so i googled "flash player active x" and downloaded it from here :-http://adobe-flash-player-activex.updatestar.com/ (file is approx. 3mb) Now its working fine.
